The Bureau of Landmanagement administers large portions of Utah State Lands. The BLM and National Park System are concerns of the Department of Interior. The U.S. Forest Service is a concern of the U.S. Department of Agriculture.
Being a desert state, most of Utah's public lands are administered by the BLM, with high mountain areas such as the Wasatch and Uintahs administered by the Forest Service.
The BLM Utah web site is a great place to learn about western public lands. The site includes news about the lands and often calls for public input on developmental policies.
